Curatorial — 2019

Genera Humana

An international collective photography exhibition, entirely curated by Annalaura Tamburrini for Genera Festival People Mean the World.

Curatorial project

Genera Humana was conceived and entirely curated by Annalaura Tamburrini for the second edition of Genera Festival, a music and arts festival held in Cisternino under the theme People Mean the World. The exhibition was presented at the Torre Civica di Cisternino from 23 to 25 August 2019, in collaboration with Officine Fotografiche Roma.

Through an international open call, the curator selected nineteen emerging artists whose works explored identity, affective and emotional experience, the relationship with territory and family, intimacy, the body, solitude and forms of civil resistance. Different photographic languages were brought together to trace a subjective yet shared portrait of a generation and of the spaces, both inner and outer, that it inhabits.
