The Place Where Silence Begins

The Place Where Silence Begins / Qui comincia il silenzio is an ongoing analog photography project born from returning to the same childhood place every summer for more than five years. The work looks at the sea as a space of suspension and listening through large-format cyanotypes made from 35 mm negatives transferred to acetate.

The project unfolds in two series: Ogni agosto, devoted to dives from the rocks and the ritual of the summer return, and Danza miope cyano, made of underwater photographs in which the body dissolves into the space of water.
